Public Library Jurilovca

      The history of books, the history of reading is, in Jurilovca community, earlier than village foundation, being connected with community religious life; the church has permanently possessed a liturgical book fund, members of community, too.
      The first information about a library in Juriovca is since 1938, when is mentioned the existence of a small school library, which held "manuals and other works that students and village inhabitants could use them" (State Archives Tulcea).
      Public Library (Communal Library) was built in 1947, due to Naum Pocorschi role; it functioned in different buildings from village until 1972 when it was moved in newly built Communal Club.
      Starting since 1980 the activity of the library recorded a regress, being maintained by almost volontary activity of Gheorghita Cutopal, the librarian.
      The activity was taken back after 1989. In present, the books fund of "NAUM POCORSCHI" Library is about 12000 volumes.
